Those things go for $1500 or more so if it runs and everything else is there heck a couple hundred in chuck/s you got a real nice setup.   I get it tho money is money and priorities.
Suppose you'd have to save quite a few smoked drill bits to make it worth it.

Well, that's kinda what I'm getting at. Dave if the chuck is available to purchase somewhere I'd be wiling to buy the grinder from you if you were interested. I do not have an easy way to sharpen drills. It winds up being a chore to get the T & C cutter grinder setup - nothing in the shop is EVER set up for what you need right that moment!
I have one of those drill doctors but the wheel is long since worn out and limited capacity. For the effort involved in sharpening drills, I usually just wind up replacing anything under 1" that gets too chowdered. And so many of my 1"+ drills are in pathetic need of a good proper grind, and I just don't have time.

Bought a gas lens setup for my TIG torch..
The regular collet body works ok but I always hear how great the diffusers are.
Will help me be a better welder???  Who knows but the plan for now is to practice on scraps as much as possible until I’m not embarrassed to show my results.   I looked into night classes at local community college but they are literally booked solid.

Oops sorry.   It’s the Multimatic 220.
Really liking it so far.   The HF makes it much easier to start without contaminating the tungsten.

High frequency.
It starts the tig arc without having to "strike" like with stuck welding. The high frequency creates a a high frequency spark in the gap between the electrode and the work which then initiates the welding arc

HF - And don't step on the pedal when you are holding the TIG torch in such a way that it can 'bite' you!  Hoooooo weeeeeeeee, that'll make you stand up and take notice!! :character0029:

Picture this:  sitting inside an 8000-gallon stainless steel mixer with a dimpled jacket and welding up a crack in the liner. I will explain 'dimpled jacket' another time, but repeated heating and cooling cycles causes minute cracks in the liner, usually where the dimples are welded to it. Leaks are easy to find when you mix soaps and shampoos, because the cooling water will be sudsy. When you see suds in the cooling water going to the drain, it is time for an inspection, which is done by applying compressed air at about 10 PSI and crawling inside to see where the leaks are. The leaks are marked and then you crawl inside and weld them up, then polish and passivate. When you are in there welding, the ground clamp is attached to the outside of the tank, so you are insulated from the tank only by the thickness of your trousers - NOT ENOUGH!!   Hit the button on the torch (too difficult to use a pedal in there) and the HF start kicks in, you damn well better have the torch close enough to the liner's surface or you will very quickly learn just what the hell HF is!!

I’ll keep that in mind.   Another hazard I found doing a few larger projects at home like a fireplace screen frame is the torch itself gets mighty hot on longer runs.  My Maxstar 150 can run 100% duty cycle at 100A but the air cooled torch is the limiting factor.    The new 220 came with the same torch and has more output so I presume it will get just as toasty.   A water cooled setup seems a bit excessive for now.

Did a practice strip between watching YouTube and bites of my dinner.   Not great but glued them together.   And of course the pic I snapped seems to gone missing.   I’ll grab it tonight.    I know you’ll all be waiting in suspense!   I used less amperage than prescribed by the things brain box.   Maybe I should go with the flow for once?

Jeez, look how clean and pretty it is. Almost seems like a shame to get it dirty.

That reminds me of a story that still makes me chuckle.
On another forum, we had an active member that was a Firefighter, had an excellent (large) shop at home, excellent equipment and outstanding skills.
Everything in his world was fully squared away to the Nth degree.
One day he posted that he, along with other maintenance tasks, had WAXED his Miller MIG box.
I aspire to be fully squared away, someday, But I'm pretty sure I will never wax my welder(s). LOL

I actually considered waxing my BP.  But no, I didn’t do it.   100% agree with the sentiment as far as things being too clean and 90.000000 degree angles.
