The short story is
Probably 6.136"
Lap pins from just less than .156
Found another use for the .2768" ream
I'll hang FC on the pins for now while waiting for my favorite drop in to be "back in stock".
I want 1:9 because 168 is the lightest I throw. I'll probably get impatient and 1:10
Brother's Hardinge is up again so If I get pissy I can turn a blank down.
More on the Hardinge in another thread.

I'm sorry, Dennis. I can rarely make sense of what you ask/post. I usually read it two or three times and still can't follow.

Looks like someone is looking to make a Colfax design lower for an AR-10 in .308.
Any other reason besides slug weight for the 1:9 twist ?
So many factors can effect best twist rate, projectile length and velocity being the biggest factors IMHO.

There's just enough difference between the DPMS, Colfax, and Anchor Harvy that I've used that I think I'll be making separate tooling plates, code, layout

Thats one variation of 308 dims floating around the net. Keeps things interesting sorting thru them trying to figure out which to use. Be nice if there was an actual standard.

I think Area 419 has Timneys in stock but not the adjustable ones.
