WTB: Power Scraper
« on: September 18, 2022, 09:31:33 AM »
Could you guys keep your ears to the ground for a power scraper for sale? I have been investigating rebuilding avenues for the big mill, but they're so far beyond any expectation I had it seems unreasonable. There's 5 thou dip in the Y axis and something as simple as decking off a plate winds up embarrassingly out of tolerance.
There's 540 sq/in of box way on the knee alone - I'd rather hang by my toes than scrape 5 thou off that by hand...

Do you have straightedges and large enough surface plate to use for references?

Yes.
36x48x6 granite plate, various shop made straight edges. I just don't want to hand scrape. And mill down time would need to be minimal.

I've never bought anything off anything other than a selling site like eBay or Amazon, or meeting in person to buy setting privately.
Is anyone close enough to buy in person?

That's the old "blue" one.  Unattainable parts for it.  That is like the one I have.  When it craps out its done.  So be careful on buying it.  I would try to plug it in and make sure it runs before buying it if possible.  If it runs I wouldn't pay no more than $250-300 for it.  Ken
