I like it, how's the engine swap coming along?
Pep
Oh, you just HAD to bring that up, huh? lol
The short story is "glacial progress".
The long story is that I started a new business over the winter and between working a full time job plus the massive learning curve of this business, my cars have taken a back seat. You may recall that the buyer of the 72 Cutlass flaked out on me so my plans had to change somewhat. I dropped the 260 and trans into that car but haven't finished the installation/hookup. That car is now sold (with significant non-refundable funds paid this time, lol) but still in my shop waiting for a few parts to switch cars.
My '71 Cutlass wouldn't fire up in the spring. Turned out to be a fuel delivery problem but while the pump was off I found the timing chain was way loose. So it's in the shop waiting for me to finish that and replace the driver's door latch. The 4.5 hour timing chain job was started in early June and isn't done yet. I think I've been able to spend all of a couple hours out there in July, and the annual car show I organize in August is now going to be sucking whatever time I have left.
And so the car I really want to be driving, the '70 Cutlass, is still sitting with no drive train. Just staring at me all sad eyed saying "wth dude?".
I think it's time to throw some pizzas on the workbench, beer in the fridge and call a couple friends over! Thanks for remembering and asking, pep!
