To keep the post from being 15 miles long, I'll explain the build here.
It's pretty simple. Used just a cold rolled shaft, brass, the tee, a 12 point 3/4" socket, in keeping with a plumbing theme - the iron bushings, and the hammer head is aluminum. The brass ferrel is silver soldered to the shaft, the iron bushings are brazed together. Then the socket and iron bushings are threaded into the tee then pinned with set screws. The aluminum hammer head is just a tight fitting thread. I chose aluminum because the head is already pretty heavy and I didn't want to throw the balance all off, and it's soft.
The handle is Jatoba wood. There is a cross pin through the shaft that tooth's into the handle to keep it from spinning and the brass plug on the end is also a tight fitting thread.
Then everything has had the crap polished out of it.
