Last night at 12:01 AM was the official end of this competition. You have been granted a 7 day grace  period to use as you see fit. On December 21 it will end at midnight. If I do not see a picture of the finished project at that time, you are out of the competition. Good luck all you have no time to waste.

I'm pushing this to the bitter end, like always... I've been so busy with the shop and life, I kept putting this off. Now I'm well under way. Hopefully I get it done in time!

Alright... Here we goo.

I entered the idea of a hammer wrench for my mill. All of my extra time and interest had been going into the new shop so this project got back burner in every aspect. But, in keeping with the spirit of taking part, growing the site, and following my word - the past few days I kicked it into high gear.

Here's my rendition of the 3/4" brass tee hammer wrench.

To keep the post from being 15 miles long, I'll explain the build here.

It's pretty simple. Used just a cold rolled shaft, brass, the tee, a 12 point 3/4" socket, in keeping with a plumbing theme - the iron bushings, and the hammer head is aluminum. The brass ferrel is silver soldered to the shaft, the iron bushings are brazed together. Then the socket and iron bushings are threaded into the tee then pinned with set screws. The aluminum hammer head is just a tight fitting thread. I chose aluminum because the head is already pretty heavy and I didn't want to throw the balance all off, and it's soft.

The handle is Jatoba wood. There is a cross pin through the shaft that tooth's into the handle to keep it from spinning and the brass plug on the end is also a tight fitting thread.
Then everything has had the crap polished out of it.

My goodness Shawn. There is a lot of thought in that Hammer. I love that handle. Great work on your part.

OK folks, it wasn't easy. Both hammers had very stong points. In the end it was obvious that Shawn has more imagination than he thinks he does. Jeff you were a formidable opponent, I wish I had two books to give away.

Shawn, Congratulations on your stunning Hammer, you are the winner. Plerase PM me your snail mail address and the book will be on its way this  week.
