Would this work as a MIG power source?

(1/1)

Uglydog:
I've never MIG/GMAW welded.
I enjoy TIG/GTAW and ARC/Shielded/SMAW.
And while I can often put down good welds, I am not an expert by any means, and refuse to do any life/safety welds.

One of my welders is a Lincoln SAE200J input 240v 3ph. With her it is really easy to put down some good welds!
She has both CV and CC controls pages 6&7 of the attached manual.

Does anyone know if the SAE200J would work for MIG if used in conjunction with a wire feeder (e.g.  http://www.hoffonlineauctions.net/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?hoff78/217/1 ) and other appropriate guns and gases?

Thanks for your opinions and knowledge,

4GSR:
You will probably have to adapt a new plug from the Miller wire feeder to the Lincoln welder.  Should be easy to do. I've seen it done on similar machines using other brand wire feeders.

GNAP:
Seen it many times, using a Lincoln LN-25

Uglydog:
I'll be watching when she comes to auction. I may be back for more counseling on this one!!
