I've enjoyed watching Chris for years. His antikythera mechanism series has been amazing. His understanding of clockworks is incredible. The only shame is the infrequency in which he posts. But, understandably, to build what he builds and the way he does it (techniques and tools from the period) HAS to be nothing short of painstakingly time consuming. Every gear he's made has been filed by hand, every tooth... Remarkable.

I remember seeing something about that, at one time. I bookmarked the link and will get back  to watch it. Interesting it is being backwards engineered to see just what it is .

Killer, thanks Mike ..

He makes hand filing look simple/easy. Well, it is, if you just what to remove metal haphazardly! But he takes it the ultimate level of finesse. He hand files like a precision milling machine, it blows my mind.

And makes his files by hand.
An absolute master craftsman and what I believe is the best video technique and editing and presentation of all the informative videos out there.

He is a great guy.  I traded some notes with him on a die filer I am building and he was quite helpful.

His videos are great on the big screen TV.  Very well done and full of insights and metal art.
