the new shoppette window

There are budget concerns and making a steel framed window for a 2nd story shoppette and storage room was required.

Wood gets eaten by bugs in a decade here and it is back of the house on the 2nd floor so security is not so critical.
Structural steel studs for the frame in the wall and alu sheet that had once been a Lincoln hood were used.  I live ib a tropical area so heat retention is not desired, a bug and rain resistant vent is.    That all needs to be worked in behind the  sloped upper panel.
Both panels are hinged for future service needs and the lower opens out 90 degrees if need be to let light in to my future workbench.

Weather resistant and servicable for decades of a dry interior is the goal here.  Affordable is a nice touch.    It will do fine for a back wall service area.

It is invisible and it doesn't show up in the sheet metal index page either.

Nice project - well done Sr!

Thank you Sir.  The entire thing is a minor feat of engineering to get a smooth look and make it move smoothly.  It ate up a heap of pop rivets too.

Those projects keep the brain working and end up being satisfying to see them work out.
