A new box arrived here this past week. I wonder what's in it?

No cats, no bags, so the cat cannot be out of the bag.  Hmmmmm.

Maybe this will help.

I forgot to mention, we already have a cat, so don't need another.

Nope, not a Stuart, although I would love to build a Stuart 5A or a Double 10, as well as a couple of their other models.

This one is from PM Research, it is their small "Coke bottle" vertical engine, model number 5BI.

I happened to be in the right place at the right time over at the Model Engine Maker forum, where I am also a member.  Another fellow gave away this set of castings as well as a set for a small horizontal engine, another fellow (who was also banned over at you-know-where) got the horizontal engine.

That reminds me, I should tell him about this place. I don't remember why he got kicked to the curb elsewhere, but he's a stand up guy. I once borrowed him my books on Machine Shop Practice, and he returned them within about six weeks if I remember right. Had them packed better than the way he received them.

They make nice reasonable priced kits Terry, you'll have fun. Built their #1 a few years ago.

That is a very nicely done engine!

Their #1 is also on my list of kits to do, and I was planning to order one later this summer. Now it will have to wait, but that's okay. I also would like to do their #6 which is their large 1/4 HP horizontal mill engine.

So many things to build, so little time. The #4 caught my eye back when I built the mill engine. Just checked it was 9 years ago I built it. Anyway thought the big one would be neat driving a fan in the house, if say a compressor from a fridge would run it. The castings are reasonable, the shipping to up here would be a killer.

"Like someone else once said: So many projects, so little time!"

That sentence hit home! About 35 years ago I did a Stuart kit (pic). About 5 years later, so like 30 ago, I finished it. With all the irons I have in the fire today. Not sure about any other Stuart kit in the future?

Well, long story short, I will not have any time for this kit until I return from my vacation to Colorado and Utah, which will take up the last half of this month. Hitting the dusty trail next Friday, will be back on June 30th. I have a couple of things to get done around here, and hope to start working on this engine by late July. Keep your eyes open for a build thread.
