Full face shield
« on: September 10, 2019, 04:19:18 PM »
Well guess a full face shield is in order when doing a bit cleaning with a wire wheel on a 4.5" angle grinder.
Just a little poke just under the safety glasses.

been there done that.

I started using knotted wheels rather than plain wire. Less chance, but it still happens.
I fog up a face shield pretty good.
I have a full scott pack respirator, I could use... I would need a new carbon filter for the unit.

I can't say I know anyone who hasn't felt that sting.  Mostly in my hands when using the bench grinder.  My 4.5 handheld gets a cup wire wheel once in a while.

It was a cup wire wheel. Thought nothing about it, reached up and pulled it out,  Then thought I felt something.  When I went in the house later, I saw what was in the pic.   Freaks my wife out when something like that happens.

Mine is used to stuff like that. I've had some nasty stuff happen to me.
