The Chinese .2-1.2" inside mic I bought to compliment the 1.2-2.2" inside mic I had finally arrived... Bought it off eBay back in January... Then when the Covid thing started taking off the Chinese eBay store closed and I couldn't see the tracking number anymore. I opened a claim with eBay two weeks ago for non recieved item. eBay investigated and gave me a refund saying there was insufficient tracking information. Well it arrived. Oops...
But, I don't feel bad anymore because the damn thing is metric.... I went back to look at the ad, which I can only see the title, says .2-1.2"... Lame... Nothin I can do with metric...

Sounds like there might be a little interest in the new toy so I'll try and start a thread on it after I get some trigger time with it.
Weather's been rather crappy lately with cold and rain/snow.
Where do you usually shoot?   Iím a member at ASC in Waterman IL.
We have a 600 yard range although they require shooters pass a  ďqualification Ē before being permitted to shoot  long range.

I usually just shoot here on my property. We have about 75 acres out in the middle of nowhere. My closest neighbor (circled in Blue) are about a 1/2 mile away as the crow flies with the other at almost a mile.

I sort of know that area. went to Bradley for Engineering back in the 80ís.  Used to go out west of town to like Kickapoo area to shoot shotgun and .22.  Did the drive a few times to see friends at Western and you aint kidding that is no mans land where your at.   Sure is awesome to have enough property and vacant adjacent land to be able to shoot whenever.    Looks like shooting due west would be the safest option to not inadvertently pick off a guy in his fields eh.

Hey Carpenter, I just returned a set of mics just like the ones You show. The size I need Them for is 1.1811". At that size they were off almost .002. Kinda ruins a bearing fit. The seller thought that was as good as I could expect to get. Did not exchange, just refund. Better check Yours.

the polish mics or the inside one?

i checked the polish mics against my gauge block set. albeit, its a chinese B grade set, and ive noticed some of them are about a 2 tenths off, but plenty good for what i do. i might be able to measure down to one tenth, but i sure cant achieve it with the machines i have. (well, maybe the surface grinder.)
but the polish mics were alright. i did calibrate and adjust them to my gauge blocks. checking several points across their travel. id say they are good to 2-3 tenths. and thats with the shop heat off, so im sure i was getting errors from just the warmth of my hands.

Bought me a Trek Allant+8S
(e-bike)tonight.  Still requires pedaling but you can get up to 28 mph in the turbo mode.  I made sure to try with the assist off to see how hard it would be and surprisingly it was hard to tell vs with eco mode on.  Canít wait to get out and ride once it warms up a bit!

I know.  The ďrackĒ is pretty pathetic in fact I was bitching about it with the sales person.  Im planning to upgrade it to be able to mount my rear trunk bag.    Color wasnít my favorite either but oh well.  Almost bought the next lower model for that and other reasons.  I still have my road touring bike and a mountain bike which is enjoyable in circumstances.  Hoping I can ride to work on nice days maybe once a week to get some damn excersize.
Funny Iím pretty much 100% anti-tree hugging and I end up with the poster child tree hugg.   Iíll make up for this.  Picking it up later with the old 8mpg 496 cu-in big block chevy Suburban.

There's nothing wrong with tree hugging, in moderation. It's the people that think that everything must be prevented. Everything in moderation.

I try to reuse most things, I try to get multiple uses out of things before I throw them out. I save my metal, for recycling. not my stringy cuts, but mostly solid pieces. I save my carbide, it has some value I've been told by a recycler. not looking for the money, just looking to put it back to use.

If that's a tree hugger, well, I am.. then... I just figure I'm doing my part to responsible recycling as someone who takes from this earth more than he gives.

The proceeds of the aluminum job bought me a bunch of tooling. Some for the actual job, and some upgrades to current tooling.

That Niagara end mill is a super nice 3 flute carbide high helix for copper (second portion of this job), #17 bright stubby drills (minimum order qty was 12 🙄) for the 10-32 roll tap, letter S stubby for the 3/16-18 roll tap (that's still on order) for the copper job, and two new sets of twist drills. PDT, a lower version of Dormer. Stubby number set, and stubby fractional. Pretty exciting.
