Hello from Canada
« on: January 24, 2020, 10:51:57 AM »
Thought Iíd drop in here and introduce myself.
Iím a newbie so looking to learn some skills.
Presently I have a 1973 South Bend 10K that I picked up in Dec after a two month search.
Just added a QCTP and a 4-jaw.
Making the backplate was my first machining experience.
I also do some woodworking and am reassembling a 1988 Honda Hawk which needs some bits and bobs.
Will add a mill sometime in the future.

Welcome. Feel free to ask all your questions. Lots of great knowledge here.
I'm pretty sure a backplate is almost everyone's first project! Certainly was mine.

Shawn - also from Canada.

Greetings and welcome.
What area of Canada are you in ??
Curious if you're anywhere near Shawn (Carpenter84 on the forum).

Ooops, didn't realize you were on Shawn. :41:

Yep, that's a ways for sure.
I've been seeing that area has been having some seismic activity lately.
Any ground shake in your area ??

Glad to have you aboard.
Like Shawn said, ask or contribute what you will.
This forum has a bunch of friendly and knowledgeable people here.
Lord knows I've got plenty of help.

Welcome aboard, David. Ask anything you like, we are all here to answer your questions. If you come up with something that one of us cannot answer, well we can certainly figure out where to find the answer! Don't be bashful either. We love sharing our own projects and viewing those of others as they can be a great inspiration. We all started somewhere, and we've all learned that the only stupid question is the one that you don't bother to ask. Enjoy!!
